WDIJW? The Sad Song

April 13, 2020

I ran across this video back in ’05 or ’06, and it resurfaces at unusual and strangely appropriate times. It was some cutting edge shit back then, and still sets a pretty high bar.

Creator Fredo Viola writes on the film’s YouTube page that “The Sad Song video was created using about 99 15 second movies from my old Nikon Coolpix camera.” He doesn’t elaborate on the song’s meaning, but it was always packed an emotional wallop for me.

Fredo Viola is an American singer/songwriter and multi-media artist. He was born in London, England, but has resided in the United States for most of his life. He lives in Woodstock, N.Y. He graduated from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
