Federal funds boost climate-focused MA transportation projects
Massachusetts is set to benefit from over $100 million in federal funding for transformative transportation projects. New pathways will reconnect neighborhoods in Somerville, Mattapan, and Pittsfield, while more than 400 electric-vehicle charging stations will be added statewide. The funds will also improve rail safety and expand trails like the Ashuwillticook Trail in Berkshire County. Quentin Palfrey, director of federal funds, highlighted the state's focus on accessibility and climate resilience, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
