On behalf of the Williamstown Police Department and in conjunction with the SPCP Planning
Group and the Department of Justice, we would like to invite all residents of Williamstown to participate
in a facilitated dialogue on Strengthening Police and Community Partnerships (SPCP). The Williamstown
SPCP project was initiated by Interim Police Chief Mike Ziemba to support avenues of communication
and trust between the community and the Williamstown Police Department. This dialogue will take
place on Saturday, March 12, 2022, between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM at the Mount Greylock Regional
School. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants.
SPCP is a structured program where diverse community members come together to engage in
constructive and civil dialogue, work to identify issues that impact the police-community relationship
and develop solutions that best fit the community. SPCP dialogues are adopted and implemented by
local communities, with support and facilitation from the Department of Justice’s Community Relations
Service. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own thoughts and ideas on policing and be
asked to respectfully consider the outlook of others.
All voices and viewpoints are welcome and to ensure that all of Williamstown feels included, the
SPCP Planning Group will be intentionally reaching out to individuals and groups that may offer a unique
and often underrepresented perspective. We encourage participation from as many people as possible
to assist in finding solutions and coming together as a community. In the coming weeks, the Planning
Group will be providing further information on how to register for this event. Thanks for helping us
