Put Peakers in the Past | January Pittsfield Green Drinks

January 19 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST

At our January meeting we will welcome Rosemary Wessel from No Fracked Gas in Mass to talk about peaker power plants in the Berkshires. The virtual meeting will convene at 6pm via Zoom.
Learn about the impacts of Peaker Power Plants in the Berkshires, some of the worst offenders to public health and climate. These plants are located near communities of color and low-income households, relying on the dirtiest fuels that produce tremendous amounts of pollution when burned.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED, REGISTER HERE: https://us02web.zoom.us/…/tZEvd–vqzojEtw4X7sGJ71uXd…
We believe that clean air is a right. We are demanding that the three peaking power plants located in Berkshire County, MA be shut down and replaced with only renewable and clean alternatives.
Rosemary Wessel is program director of No Fracked Gas in Mass, a BEAT program and Clean Energy Coordinator for The Old Stone Mill Center in Adams.
As a longtime advocate and activist, Rose enjoys foraging and hiking with her dog and farmsteading in her spare time.

Pittsfield Green Drinks : Each month a guest speaker talks for about 30 minutes beginning at 6 PM on the third Tuesday of the month. The presentation, which is free and open to the public, is followed by discussion and Q&A. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring your questions!
What is Green Drinks? Green Drinks is an international forum where people who work in the environmental field meet for a drink and snacks at informal sessions. There will be a lively mix of people from non-profit organizations, academia, government, business, and the general public. Green Drinks is a great way of catching up with people you know and for making new contacts. These networking events are very simple and unstructured. Come along and you’ll be made welcome.
