Longtime Wilco multi-instrumentalists John Stirratt and Pat Sansone have been playing together in their spare time as the American indie rock band The Autumn Defense ever since the idea struck them 18 years ago in New Orleans at the end of Wilco’s Mermaid Avenue sessions with Billy Bragg. Stirratt (formerly Uncle Tupelo) and Sansone take inspiration from the crisp season in the duo’s name, combining classic pop and rock sounds from ‘60s and ‘70s AM radio traditions with silk-soft country-folk. “In short: warming, gorgeous, delightful,” wroteRolling Stone of the duo’s second album, Circles.
Heather Maloney’s sound is timeless. The Northampton indie folk singer-songwriter has a distinctive, clear, and pure voice, and she uses it to tell down-to-earth tales in polished folk songs exploring themes of spirituality, transformation, and impermanence. According to Glide Magazine, Maloney’s “…sound will knock-you-to-your-knees.”
