Finding New Songs in Old Ballads: A Songwriting Workshop with Molly Pinto Madigan

This workshop will be held online and will run from 11:00am-12:30pm*THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE HELD ONLINE AS PART OF BCM FEST 2021*What is a ballad? And why, as a song form, does it continue to enchant us today? From traditional balladry to 21st-century singer/songwriters, we’ll explore this timeless musical form and discuss how we can incorporate ballad elements into our own songwriting.
With writing prompts and listening examples, this interactive workshop will have participants flexing their newfound ballad-writing skills, with the option to share their work with the group at the end.Please note: Limited to 10 students; Pre-sales are highly encouraged! Sales end 15 minutes before the class begins. 3 students are required for this class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified and receive a full refund.
