 Antiques / Posted 3 months ago by ralph.brill@verizon.net / 89 views

Lockwood de Forest (1850- 1932) was a key figure in the Aesthetic Movement and together with Louis Comfort Tiffany introduced the Gilded Age America to East Indian wood carvings and other crafts. In 1887, de Forest bought 7 East 10th Street in NYC and decorated his new home with intricately carved teak elements made by the Ahmadabad Woodcarving Company in India. Lockwood de Forest’s Carvings are in the major museums today. I am Selling the Teak Door from his NYC Home for $22,000.
