This is not your average summer theatre “Best Bets” segment, I promise you. Larry Murray, founder and editor of Berkshire on Stage (among many other cultural connections) and Gail Burns, author of “Gail Sez” (ditto), start out with their forecasts for how the wind will blow across the boards in the Berkshires this season. Then, the conversation bends toward some of the big, really big, issues, affecting the vitality of the arts both at home and across the country. Keep Reading

I love this episode. Not only do we have two fantastic guests AND massively powerful indie music mojo, but this is the episode where I figure out some critical truths about how to engineer the show so that we have time for everything we want to hear. Probably, this means that indie music is going to get it’s own show next week. For now, enjoy an hour and a half or so of exceptional Internet audio goodness. As always, a great time co-hosted by Tela Zasloff, founder and editor of the Greylock Independent.

No music this week…We had to make room for some of those in-depth interviews we’re getting famous for. Don’t worry. We have some GREAT new music for you over on our Arts & Culture podcast, “Will Call.” What we do have is the Audio iBeat with Tammy Daniels from iBerkshires, as well as the Weekend Lowdown with Berkshire Family Focus Founder, Kelly McIlquam. Two great guests: North Adams Mayor, the Honorable Richard J. Alcombright explains the city’s designation of this week as Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and Paul Harsch of Harsch Associates joins us for the Berkshire Business Outlook.

A tremendous head and chest cold struck this week, so I offer my apologies for the obvious snuffliness. A very busy Tammy Daniels, managing editor of iBerkshires took time out from coverage of the Clarksburg State Forest fire to co-host another segment of the audio “iBeat.” Kelly Bevan McIlquham of Berkshire Family Focus, is back from vacation, though she may have left some of her brain in Fla… We speak with Jonah Sykes of the Berkshire United Way about the free screening of “Let’s Talk about Sex” that helps focus attention on the issue of the pregnancy rates among teens in the Berkshires. And of course, there is music…
